Robert W. Myers


Bob began his legal career as a Franklin County Assistant Public Defender and subsequently as Assistant Attorney General representing the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation and Industrial Commission in litigation at all levels within the Ohio court system. Bob's trial experience includes numerous jury verdicts in favor of his clients, as well as favorable judgments for his clients through motions for summary judgment and motions to dismiss. He also has litigated on behalf of clients in Mandamus actions before the District Courts of Appeal and the Ohio Supreme Court.

Bob moved into private practice by joining the law firm of Thompson Hine, LLP in 1996. He focused his practice on the defense of self-insured and state-funded employers of all sizes in workers' compensation, intentional tort, violations of specific safety requirements ("VSSR"), and other aspects of labor and employment law. He was elected partner at Thompson Hine in 2004. Subsequently, he joined Taft, Stetinius & Hollister LLP as a partner. His practice was focused on defense of employers before the Industrial Commission of Ohio as well as in the Ohio court system. Bob joined Shane Dawson as a partner to the firm in 2010. Bob continues to represent self-insured and state-funded employers of all sizes, from multi-national corporations to small business owners throughout Ohio.
