OUR AREAS OF PRACTICE

Administrative Law

Dawson & Myers has over 131 combined years of experience representing clients before various state and federal administrative agencies throughout Ohio. We have particular expertise representing clients before the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation, the Ohio Industrial Commission, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the U.S. Department of Labor and the Ohio Civil Rights Commission. Our familiarity with the processes and procedures of various agencies gives us an advantage when handling matters before these bodies.

Employment Law

We handle a variety of matters involving the myriad of overlapping areas in the employment law field. From advising businesses on handbook development and policies, to handling arbitrations under collective bargaining agreements, to enforcing and defending non-compete agreements, to defending investigations and claims for harassment, discrimination and discharge, we have assisted clients through proactive counseling and efficient, yet, effective litigation defense.

Litigation

Dawson & Myers has experience in representing employers in litigation involving subrogation interests, breach of contract actions and allegations of employer intentional tort. While we work zealously to reduce or eliminate liability in such cases, we do not view litigation as an excuse to "run the meter" and run up unnecessary legal expenses. Our approach to litigation is to achieve the best result for our clients in the most cost effective manner possible.

Workers' Compensation

We started our legal careers handling industrial injury cases and it continues to be a significant portion of our practice today. Whether an employer needs assistance with a rate dispute with the Bureau of Workers' Compensation, defending any number of different issues that arise in the life of a claim before the Industrial Commission or handling appeals to the courts of common pleas or mandamus complaints before the Court of Appeals and Ohio Supreme Court, we have been there and have a track record of success.
